How innovation makes a difference for clients and their employees
eTRAC® MasterCard® technology replaces vouchers at New York’s Educational Broadcasting Corporation
The Educational Broadcasting Corporation employs more than 500 people who operate two public television stations—Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21—and provide award-winning public programming to millions of viewers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island. Unable to provide top salaries, nonprofit EBC must provide attractive, cost-effective employee benefits. Yet its voucher-based pre-tax mass transit benefit was not as convenient, cost effective and carefree as EBC had hoped.
A switch to eTRAC Commute, featuring the eTRAC MasterCard, provided flexibility, convenience, security and savings.

We judge Benefit Resource by our most important measure—employee satisfaction. Our employees say they provide excellent claims service. And we find they provide an extra dimension in plan design and service.

We were looking for a way to help employees with the increasing costs of health care. Benefit Resource has delivered everything they promised. Customer service is great. Reimbursement turnaround time—I’ve literally had no complaints. And it adds up to big savings for our employees. Benefit Resource has been a home run for us.

The customer service at Benefit Resource is outstanding. They're very good with the details. Our employees had enough confidence in the stability of Benefit Resource—after we'd had a not-very-good experience with a former vendor—that we've also engaged Benefit Resource for our flexible spending plan.

Under our old system, with a transit check, people had to stand in line at a counter to buy a monthly pass, or mail in the transit check and wait for that pass. There was a tax savings but no shortcut in terms of time. Now, as you fly through whatever terminal you're in, you can stop at an open machine and use the eTRAC card to buy your pass. You walk right by the lines at the regular counters. Our employees love it. I'd say eTRAC has boosted participation in the transit benefit by close to 20 percent.

Great job on your web site—I already have participants who have commented favorably about it. Thanks for providing this to our employees.
