A SIGIS IIAS Merchant is a pharmacy, drug store, supermarket or discount store that has an Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS) which can automatically separate your purchase into eligible and non-eligible amounts at the checkout.

You will not usually need to submit a receipt to verify the eligibility of a purchase made at a merchant who is IIAS compliant, but save your receipts just in case.

A SIGIS 90% Merchant is a pharmacy or drugstore that earns 90% or more of their revenue from the sale of eligible healthcare items.

You may need to submit documentation to verify the eligibility of a purchase whenever your card is used at a 90% merchant, so save your receipt.

Some retailers are not SIGIS merchants, but have implemented their own approach that is compliant with IRS requirements for benefit cards. You may use your Beniversal Card at the following non-SIGIS merchants:

- drugstore.com
- Walgreens
- Wal-Mart
- Wal-Mart Optical
- 1-800-Contacts
- VisionDirect.com

As always, save your receipts!

Some of the medical expenses that you can use your Card for may include:

- co-payments
- deductibles
- prescription drugs
- over-the-counter (OTC) items

Not all medical OTC items are eligible for reimbursement.     Sample OTC chart.

Since your employer can limit the type of expenses eligible under your plan, you should consult your plan documentation.

*SIGIS (Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards) was formed to establish a recognized industry-wide solution that allows benefit cards to be used per IRS regulations.
