If allowed by your employer, your mass transit election should be equal to the full cost of your mass transit expense. Any amount above the pre-tax limit will be taken on a post-tax basis. The full cost will be deducted from payroll and the value added to your Beniversal / eTRAC Card, which will ensure you have enough funds available to pay the expense with the Card.
If your employer does not allow post-tax deductions, you may need to tell the merchant the exact amount you want taken from the Card and pay any additional amounts with another payment source.
